Absorption Coefficient MechanismMost of the laser energy radiated to the surface is absorbed by surface attachments. The contaminants are heated, gasified and evaporated, or expand instantaneously, then carried away from the object surface by the vapor flow generated on the surface to achieve the cleaning effect. The substrate absorbs very little energy of this laser wavelength and thus remains undamaged. For this type of laser cleaning, selecting an appropriate laser wavelength and precisely controlling laser energy is the key to safe and efficient cleaning.

Impact Peeling MechanismThis method is applicable to scenarios where the laser energy absorption coefficient of the substrate is close to that of surface attachments, or where the substrate is sensitive to acidic vapor generated by heated coatings, or the coating may produce toxic substances when heated. It generally adopts high-power and high-repetition-rate pulsed laser to impact the surface to be cleaned, converting part of the laser beam into acoustic waves. After the acoustic waves strike the underlying hard surface, the reflected waves collide with incident laser acoustic waves to generate micro-explosions. The coating is shattered and crushed into powder, then removed by a vacuum pump, leaving the underlying substrate intact and undamaged.

Leveraging its high brightness, laser can be focused by a lens to generate a temperature of thousands to tens of millions of degrees near the focal point.
