With the development of urban and rural construction, the geographical environment in which transmission lines are located has undergone significant changes, and factors affecting grid safety have gradually increased. In recent years, suspended objects such as kite strings, plastic mulching films, canvas, advertising banners, and remnants of fireworks and firecrackers have become one of the serious hazards to high-voltage transmission lines. They entangle and hang on the conductors, which can easily cause faults such as single-phase grounding and interphase short circuits in high-voltage transmission lines. In severe cases, they may even lead to widespread power outages in the grid. Therefore, it is necessary to remove these foreign objects in a timely manner.
Traditionally, suspended foreign objects are removed using contact methods, either through power outage operations or live line operations. The use of maintenance personnel to handle the situation after a power outage not only increases the frequency and duration of power outages but also causes significant economic losses to businesses and society. Nowadays, many provinces and cities are dedicated to researching equipotential live line operation methods and equipment, developing methods such as blowtorch combustion, rope hooking, equipotential soft ladder, operating rod removal, and insulated bucket arm vehicles for handling live foreign objects. However, these methods all belong to mechanical contact methods, requiring machinery or maintenance personnel to come into contact with power transmission and transformation equipment, which can cause some degree of damage to the lines. Personnel and equipment entering the strong electric field of the power transmission and transformation equipment's conductors and ground wires poses significant safety risks.
Using laser as the energy source, a laser beam emitted by a laser foreign object removal device on the ground irradiates the foreign object, forming a laser ablation (or cutting) area on it. This ablates the entire foreign object or segments (or cuts) it into fragments (or pieces), achieving non-contact live removal of non-metallic foreign objects such as kite strings, plastic mulching films, canvas, and advertising banners hanging on high-voltage power transmission and transformation equipment. Operators do not enter the high-voltage strong electric field, and the equipment does not come into contact with high-voltage transmission lines. This remote non-contact live removal of foreign objects from high-voltage transmission lines has important theoretical significance and significant practical engineering value for improving the reliability of power supply and ensuring the safety of maintenance personnel during operations.
The laser grid obstacle removal device utilizes laser energy, and the laser beam emitted by the laser foreign object removal device on the ground irradiates the foreign object, forming a laser ablation (or cutting) zone on the foreign object. This ablates or cuts the entire foreign object into fragments (or segments), achieving non-contact live removal of non-metallic foreign objects such as kite strings, plastic mulching films, canvas, and advertising banners hanging from high-voltage power transmission and transformation equipment.
