We production/delivery time is short, and our service is very efficient.
Laser heating and drying is an innovative application of laser, which projects a laser beam onto a large area to heat and dry the target material. The power density of the beam is usually lower than the relatively concentrated beam used for other material processing applications such as cutting and welding. The size of the projected light is easy to control and can be heated in a targeted manner, almost solving the waste heat generated by traditional heating methods.
Laser heating is an efficient and sustainable heat treatment method suitable for various applications such as battery foils, powder coatings, and paint drying. The laser heating and drying solution is faster than traditional convection furnaces and more energy-efficient than infrared lamps, making it a unique combination of high output and low operating costs.
IPG continues to pioneer technological breakthroughs that lead and define the laser industry. We are driven by an unwavering dedication to innovation and are always striving to empower global manufaturers and institutions with laser technologies that improve the world around us and make more possible.
In order to reduce their carbon footprint, manufacturers are abandoning traditional convection furnaces that burn fossil fuels. In addition to environmental and energy cost issues, convection furnaces also have other drawbacks that limit manufacturers' production efficiency.
The volume of laser heating systems is usually several times smaller than that of convection furnaces. A moderately sized laser system can often replace multiple convection furnaces, freeing up factory floor space and infrastructure.
Infrared radiation can quickly heat precisely located areas, greatly improving processing speed. Convection is a slow indirect heating method that requires a significant amount of cooling time.
◆ High energy efficiency, up to 40-60%
◆ Directional heating - The laser only directs energy towards the target area and does not radiate waste heat into the factory
◆ High speed technology can be 5-10 times faster than convection furnaces
◆ Laser heater is a "cold" furnace that can support on-site measurement and achieve precise process control
◆ Performance does not degrade - Laser heating can provide long-term stable effects without the need for consumables like infrared bulbs.
The infrared light generated by the infrared lamp is similar to a laser heater, and the drying speed is also very fast. Although infrared lamps are more efficient than convection furnaces, their operating costs are still significantly higher than diode laser solutions.
Laser only directly irradiates energy onto the illuminated area, rather than radiating heat over a larger area. The temperature of infrared light bulbs is relatively high, but the heat guidance is not precise, and a large amount of waste heat generated is absorbed by the furnace wall, making it impossible to conduct on-site process monitoring.
The Shanghai Runqia laser heating system is maintenance free and has an expected service life of over 5-10 years. The service life of infrared light bulbs is only 1 to 2 years, requiring regular maintenance and expensive replacement costs.
