Superplastic Forming/Diffusion Bonding (SPF/DB) is a complex component integral near net forming process that forms thin-walled, multi-layer hollow structures, and complex spatial lattice structures in one go under low load conditions. It is suitable for the integral forming difficulties of complex parts such as titanium alloys, aluminum alloys, magnesium alloys, nickel based high-temperature alloys, Ti Al intermetallic compounds, and ceramic materials.
Traditional ultra-high temperature (with a maximum heating temperature of 1200 ℃ on the platform) and large tabletop super plastic forming/diffusion bonding equipment are applied to the forming and manufacturing of complex components of Ti Al intermetallic compounds, which are lightweight and high-temperature resistant materials. They use traditional heating methods, have long heating times, and relatively high heat losses. The use of array laser heating method can solve the above problems and achieve precise and selective rapid heating.
Superplastic forming/diffusion bonding equipment is applied in the forming and manufacturing of complex parts with multi-layer hollow structures made of titanium alloy, as well as in the forming and manufacturing of all aluminum body parts for passenger cars in the civilian field, high-speed rail locomotive heads, wall panels, windows and other parts for rail transit vehicles. Replacing traditional heating techniques with laser heating is a new technological direction in the future.
