The high-temperature and high-pressure laser floating zone single crystal furnace may refer to an optical floating zone method single crystal furnace that can operate in a high-temperature and high-pressure environment, with high temperatures up to 3000 degrees and high pressures up to 300 bar. The working principles and technical characteristics of the high-temperature and high-pressure laser floating zone single crystal furnace (i.e. optical floating zone method single crystal furnace) are as follows:
The high-temperature and high-pressure laser floating zone single crystal furnace adopts the laser optical floating zone method, which is a vertical zone melting method that forms a high-temperature melting zone through photothermal radiation focusing to achieve single crystal growth. Its core lies in precisely controlling a series of parameters to ensure the stability and uniformity of the single crystal growth process.
1. Forming a melting zone: Place a polycrystalline material rod in a high-temperature zone and focus it with a light source (such as a xenon lamp, laser, etc.) to form a narrow melting zone. The melting zone is supported by surface tension and maintained by the balance between surface tension and gravity.
2. Melting zone movement: By moving the material rod, the melting zone is moved axially. After cooling in the melt zone, directional crystallization occurs, ultimately forming a single crystal rod.
1. Temperature control: By adjusting the power and focus of the light source, the temperature of the melting zone can be precisely controlled, up to a maximum of 2200 ℃ to over 3000 ℃.
2. Gas environment: Multiple atmosphere environments (such as argon, oxygen, etc.) are configured, and the flow rate can be adjusted within the range of 0.25~1L/min to meet the growth needs of different materials.
3. Stretching rate and rotation rate: Accurately control the stretching rate (0.1-200mm/h) and rotation rate (0-150rpm) to ensure the stability of the crystal growth interface and reduce the generation of defects.
The high-temperature and high-pressure floating zone single crystal furnace usually includes the following parts:
1. Light source system: such as xenon lamps, lasers, etc., providing high-temperature radiation.
2. Focusing system: such as a dual mirror focusing system, which focuses the light source onto the melting zone or 5 to 7 laser beams.
3. Gas control system: Provide and control the atmosphere environment.
4. Mechanical system: including stretching mechanism and rotating mechanism, used to control the movement and rotation of material rods.
5. Monitoring system: used for real-time monitoring of the status and growth process of the melt zone.
The high-temperature and high-pressure optical floating zone single crystal furnace is widely used in the preparation of single crystal samples such as superconducting materials, dielectric materials, magnetic materials, and intermetallic compounds.
The high-temperature and high-pressure light floating zone single crystal furnace achieves the transformation from polycrystalline materials to single crystals in high-temperature environments by precisely controlling a series of key parameters and equipment components.
